Cameron Tope tried to hire a property manager for his own rentals in 2013. Companies blew him off; the ones that responded weren't licensed and wouldn't send statements. So he built what he couldn't find.
Cameron is broker, owner and founder of Emerson Property Management, serving several hundred owners across Greater Houston — run entirely remotely from San Diego. He started investing in rentals after the 2013 oil crash put his petroleum engineering career at BP at risk, grew his own portfolio past 30 doors, and launched Emerson in 2019.
Cameron returned to the show for a second conversation on speed-to-lead and where property managers waste their marketing budget: Stop Lighting Marketing Money on Fire.
